2025 Sustainability Report: Turning Commitment into Measurable Impact
2025 was not an easy year. Europe’s steel industry navigated geopolitical instability, volatile energy prices, and mounting regulatory pressure.
Yet it is precisely in moments like these that the true strength of a strategy becomes evident, whether it is genuinely structural or merely declarative.
Today, we are publishing our FY 2025 Sustainability Report, reflecting a year in which growth and responsibility advanced hand in hand.
Production reached 2.27 million tonnes. Specific CO₂ emissions (Scope 1+2) decreased to 0.172 tCO₂e per tonne, in line with the pathway certified under the
Global Steel Climate Council® (GSCC®) standards, making us the first in Europe, in the long steel sector, to achieve this milestone. Renewables accounted for 48.3% of total electricity consumption.
Then there is #Chalibria, our carbon-neutral steel, now certified under ISO 14068-1, which has surpassed 10% of Group sales, with an 18% increase compared to the previous year. A clear indication that the market recognizes and values sustainability when it is tangible and measurable.
#Circularity, for us, is not a future ambition, it is the model through which we operate every day. Over 95% of raw materials comes from recovery processes, and 96% of waste was sent for recycling or recovery.
And then there are our #people. The lost-time injury frequency rate (LTIFR) declined from 21.8 to 17.5, while training hours increased by 10%, reaching over 71,000 hours. Women represented 8.6% of new blue-collar hires.
These figures reflect not only performance, but a culture.
Finally, we revised the structure of the report to further align with CSRD requirements, completed our first double materiality assessment with the involvement of both internal and external stakeholders, and introduced an ESG Scorecard with social and governance KPIs that will support ongoing monitoring in the years ahead.

“The 2025 Sustainability Report confirms the Group’s commitment to rigorously measuring its ESG performance and translating decarbonisation objectives into concrete, verifiable industrial actions fully embedded in our long-term strategy.”
Giovan Battista Landra, Group Sustainability & Environment Director
“This report represents a further step towards CSRD alignment, but above all it is evidence of a transformation already underway. The sustainable transition requires robust data, targeted investments, and the engagement of the entire value chain. The results achieved reflect an industrial model driven by efficiency, responsibility, and future competitiveness.”
Andrea Costa, Group Sustainability and Decarbonization Manager.
