New Sustainability Report published: structured governance, concrete results and transparency for responsible growth

Operating sustainably means consistently integrating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles into the daily management of activities and processes, investment decisions, and stakeholder relationships across the entire value chain.

This is the approach AFV Beltrame Group is concretely implementing through the early adoption of double materiality and a structured ESG governance model, as showcased in the projects and initiatives published in our new Sustainability Report.

The reporting year was marked by targeted investments in energy efficiency, technological innovation, and increasing the share of renewable energy.
Our strategic model, built on 5 pillars — workplace safety, reduction of energy and water consumption, minimization of carbon footprint, circular waste management, and enhancement of human capital — has led to tangible results:

– First steel mill in Europe certified by Global Steel Climate Council® (GSCC®);
– CO₂ emissions reduction: Group-specific emissions (Scope 1, 2, and 3 upstream) are fully aligned with decarbonization targets, showing a steadily improving trend;
– Renewable energy: thanks to self-consumption from our hydroelectric plants and photovoltaic systems, 35% of the energy needs of our Italian plants are now covered by renewable sources;
– Circular economy: over 95% of the iron used comes from recycled scrap, and 92% of the waste produced has been recovered or recycled;
– HR: 97.3% of the Group’s contracts are permanent, with over 64,000 hours of training delivered;
– Inclusion and welfare: continued investments in welfare, equal opportunities, and youth policies, with training and employment programs in all countries where we operate;
– Commitment to the territory: support for numerous social, cultural, and environmental initiatives.

“Proud to present our new Sustainability Report which is the result of a cross-functional effort, supported by dedicated committees at both Group and Country level. As we move towards full alignment with CSRD, we have strengthened our governance and reporting processes—adopting a systemic, data-driven approach that enables us to monitor progress, manage risks and opportunities, and engage stakeholders throughout our value chain.
This journey represents more than a compliance step: it’s about building transparency, accountability, and long-term value, reinforcing AFV Beltrame Group’s commitment to a sustainable steel industry.”, Giovan Battista Landra
“Only by starting from solid data and clear climate targets can we build credible and lasting strategies. In a rapidly evolving regulatory and market context, integrating sustainability into the business model and investing in emissions reduction is not just a responsible choice — it’s a strategic driver for competitiveness, resilience, and constructive dialogue with all stakeholders.”, Andrea Costa.
