New photovoltaic plant in Stahl Gerlafingen
Our Swiss site Stahl Gerlafingen has signed a new contract with AEW Energie AG for the installation of an additional photovoltaic plant on the roofs of buildings 278 and 288.
The new plant, consisting of approximately 4,600 panels, will have a capacity of 2.1 MWp and will generate an amount of energy equivalent to the annual consumption of 500 households.
The commissioning is scheduled for June 2025. All the energy produced will be used locally for #steel production.
This plant adds to the previous 2.2 MWp and 2.8 MWp plants, which became operational in May 2024 and November 2024, respectively, representing a further step in the group’s #decarbonization strategy.
