The exhibition “The Makers of Eternal Egypt” opens today in the Basilica Palladiana in Vicenza. The exhibition will remain open until 7 May 2023, and has been promoted by the Group, and in particular by Vice-President Patrizia Beltrame, with its usual spirit of openness and support for cultural activities.
On display are 180 original artefacts, 160 from the Egyptian Museum in Turin and 20 from the Musée du Louvre in Paris, including statues, sarcophagi, papyri, bas-reliefs, carved and painted stelae, amphorae, amulets and musical instruments, which allow us to reconstruct the daily life of the inhabitants of Deir el-Medina.
Deir el-Medina was the village founded around 1500 B.C. on the west bank of the Nile, opposite the present-day city of Luxor, and was intended to house skilled craftsmen (and their families), who had the task of constructing and decorating the royal tombs in the Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens for a large part of the time. of the Valley of the Queens for much of the New Kingdom (c. 1539-1076 BC).
A fascinating event and not to be missed! #AFVBeltrameGroup #humansteel #art #culture
