Green Metal Event

AFV Beltrame Group participated in the Green Metal Event organized by Dassault Systemes at Bellavista, a workshop dedicated to the use of digital technologies for increasing sustainability in the metal industry.

The day was introduced by Carlo Gozio, and Chiara Bogo, followed by an in-depth analysis of economic trends in the steel industry presented by Stefano Ferrari of siderweb.

During the panel discussion, Paolo Mario Sartini explained how, “New technologies, particularly Artificial Intelligence (AI), can have a revolutionary impact on the future of a sustainable supply chain, optimizing operational efficiency and reducing environmental impact. The applicability on transportation and production planning is obvious and enables the reduction of travel in a “centralized” multi-site Suppy Chain management. The huge amount of data we have and would increasingly have at our disposal will allow us to improve predictive logic more and more provided we “connect” more and more machines and plants.”

Per Emiliano Sulprizio: “In a world increasingly characterized by VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity), thanks to the Chronos Project, the Beltrame Group has introduced an evolved Demand Planning tool to support the S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) process and the improvement of sales forecasts. We have also leveraged the evolution of the Macro Planner toward optimizing Group sites to provide customers with the desired product where they need it, when they need it, and minimizing travel distances and related CO2 emissions. It is always enlightening to observe how in any digitization project the real challenge lies in change management and the commitment of all the actors involved: technology is the means by which to empower people to maximize their added value and professionalism, and enable the company to consolidate a lasting and sustainable competitive advantage.”
