A sustainability lesson: young people and the future with Valfer SpA and AFV Beltrame Group
Valfer SpA and AFV Beltrame Group held an educational meeting with two fifth-year classes from the Breganze branch of ISS Andrea Scotton.
After completing the ‘Flour Project’ with the handing over of the armour they had made to the Armed Forces Museum in Montecchio Maggiore, the young school-leavers went to the headquarters of the Cornedo company (sponsor of the project) for a joint meeting with Beltrame, its supplier of steel products.
Andrea Costa, Group Sustainability Supervisor, and Ivana Pizzuto, Sales Area Manager Italy, spoke at the event with an introductory presentation that outlined the global context and the main future challenges, with a focus on the mega-trends linked to #environment, #energy and #sustainability.
The speech then continued with an in-depth look at the Group and the projects currently underway to reduce the environmental impact and promote the energy transition, also illustrating the decarbonisation plan that led to the launch of #Chalibria, the carbon neutral steel, in which Valfer Spa is a strategic partner.
The meeting offered an important stimulus to strengthen a critical and responsible vision on sustainable development issues in young people, who are about to take their high school leaving exams and enter the world of work.
