The BELCARE Programme: Corporate Welfare Based on Listening to and Caring for People

Thanks to Filippo Poletti for providing such a practical account of some of our #welfare initiatives.

Simple services, such as the on-site laundry and shoemaker, stem from listening to people’s everyday needs and a desire to make their lives easier.

This is the spirit of BELCARE, our structured welfare programme organised into five areas of support designed to accompany employees in both their professional and personal lives:
– Health: regular health checks, vaccination campaigns, specialised clinical tests;
– Family: birth grants, maternity support, an academy and training extended to family members;
– Everyday simplification: laundry, shoe repair, online shopping, car assistance, tax returns, local and national agreements;
– Flexibility: remote working and working arrangements tailored to individual needs;
– Well-being at work: breakfasts, fresh smoothies in the morning, artisanal ice cream in the summer.

As Roberto Valente, Group Chief HR & HS Officer, explains: ‘BELCARE is our corporate welfare programme. The name stems from the combination of our identity and the English word ‘care’, which embodies the concepts of care, attention and genuine concern for people. It is not merely a linguistic combination, but a genuine statement of values: it is Beltrame that takes care’.

Giulia Caruso, Group HR Management Director & Deputy CHRO, says: ‘Listening to people and responding effectively to their needs is not just a side project: it is an integral part of our corporate culture.’
