Feminine Steel: Inclusion, Innovation and the New Face of Steelmaking
For too long it was thought that in steel mills there was only room for physical force. But today's #siderurgy is much more than that: it is #automation, #innovation, #sustainability, quality control. And in this scenario, women's skills not only find space, but make a difference.
In the heart of a historically male-dominated industry, a new awareness is emerging: talent has no gender. The empowerment of women is not only a matter of equity, but a strategic lever to meet the challenges of the ecological and digital transition.
At AFV Beltrame Group we believe that human capital is the real driver of change. That is why we have been investing for years in concrete policies in favour of inclusion: flexibility, welfare, support for parenthood, continuous training.
But the biggest challenge remains cultural.
Overcoming stereotypes requires a collective commitment: inclusive governance, active listening, work environments designed to welcome all people.
'Today in our plants, the presence of women is growing and brings with it attention to detail, systemic vision, collaborative leadership,' explained
Rossano Verzara, Plant Manager Vicenza, who strongly supported the inclusion project.
For
Roberto Valente, Group Chief HR & HS Officer: 'The presence of women in the production departments represents a significant change that reflects the evolution of the labour market and the increasing enhancement of skills, regardless of gender. The openness to greater diversity in operational roles within the Vicenza site represents for us a concrete step towards a more dynamic and future-oriented working environment'.
Of course, challenges are not lacking. Adequate space, inclusive equipment, and fair career paths are still needed. But the steel industry is changing face. And the future of the industry needs all energies, all skills, all perspectives.
Because building #steel also means building culture.
