Swiss Minister of Economic Affairs visits Stahl Gerlafingen plant
An important visit to our steel mill in Gerlafingen, Switzerland, yesterday. During the tour of the more than 150-year-old plant, the Swiss Minister of Economic Affairs, Guy Parmelin, was impressed by the vital role played by Stahl Gerlafingen AG for both construction and industry in Switzerland. Too high energycosts, sustainableinvestments, and the challenges of a steel plant in Switzerland compared to one in the EU were the topics discussed.
On the picture together with Antonio Beltrame (Chairman and Group CEO), Alain Creteur (Group CEO and Country Manager Switzerland), Philipp Heri (Mayor of Gerlafingen) and Brigit Wyss, Head of the Government of the Canton of Solothurn.
“I am very conscious of the importance of having an own steel production in Switzerland”, said Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin afterwards.
