AFV Beltrame Group is sponsor of the ‘Park of the Associations’, a green area of about two hectares adjacent to Retrone Park in Vicenza that will soon be redeveloped. The initiative was presented yesterday on World Tree Day.
The project involves the planting of 1,200 trees, one for each association of the Volunteer Service Centre (Csv) of the Province of Vicenza, and the creation of almost 20,000 square metres of lawn.
Promoted by the Councillor for the Environment Sara Baldinato of the Municipality of Vicenza, the project was supervised by Diego Pellizzaro of Beleafing, with the support of Roberto Fiorentin of the Plant Biodiversity Centre of Veneto Agricoltura.
The initiative explains Roberta Amanda Hawkins Beltrame, Group Social Impact Coordinator and curator of the project: ‘It sees the Beltrame Group supporting the purchase of the plants, soil preparation, planting and sowing of the flowers, as well as emergency irrigation and the replacement of any failures over the next two years.
The vice president of AFV Beltrame Group, Patrizia Beltrame, emphasised also underlined the group’s ongoing commitment to sustainability: ‘This project reflects our approach: investing in the land and the community, putting sustainability at the heart of our actions as corporate social responsibility.
‘The objective was to redevelop this area left uncultivated,’ said councillor Sara Baldinato, ’in order to recreate the ancient landscape of the Veneto countryside, with meadows alternating with trees, respecting the local green architecture. We paid special attention to biodiversity, creating spaces for pollinators and selecting suitable plants. In the future, we plan to integrate the park with some beehives, creating a true ‘circular economy’ of nature’.
In detail, the project involves:
– Planting: 1,200 plants including trees and shrubs, with medium and tall species to encourage pollinators;
– Ancient Veneto landscape: the area is divided into fields bordered by hedges and tree rows, alternating flower meadows (10,300 square metres) and walkable areas (9,000 square metres)
– Sustainability: native flowers, emergency irrigation and maintenance by Beleafing srl for the next two years, with the support of AFV Beltrame Group.
The park will be a place dedicated to biodiversity and the community, enhancing the associations that work for the wellbeing of the area.
