AFV Beltrame Group speaker at the event: “Sustainability and energy efficiency in industry: let’s take stock” organized by ABB

Mitigating climate change and achieving the goals of the Paris Accords by adopting solutions to reduce CO2 emissions and energy consumption has now become a duty of all civil society. Industry plays a key role in this challenge, considering that 45 percent of electricity consumption is attributable to electric motors used in industry.

This was the topic of the event, “Sustainability and energy efficiency in industry: let’s take stock,” organized by ABB and held at MADE, the Competence Center for Industry 4.0 led by the Politecnico di Milano.

The workshop analyzed the evolution of the Italian regulatory framework and presented the most innovative sustainable strategies and practices to contribute to a greener future with speeches by FIRE Federazione Italiana per l’uso Razionale dell’Energia and Beltrame Group.

For Gianmaria Zanni, Group Energy COO: “Energy efficiency in an industry brings not only economic benefits related to savings, but also a number of relevant indirect benefits. Implementing energy-related process optimization interventions increases worker safety; improves the reliability and operational continuity of machinery and plants; reduces breakdowns, accidents and unplanned downtime; and decreases maintenance costs. Efficiency means, therefore, not only economic savings, but also consequent positive effects in terms of sustainability, security, competitiveness and innovation.”
