PROCESS ENGINEER
This person will be responsible for managing, monitoring, and optimising production processes, ensuring that the company’s quality, safety, and production efficiency standards are met. The role involves close collaboration with the company departments involved in production, quality, and safety.
Duties / Responsibilities
- Main responsibilities:
- Supervising the heating, rolling and finishing of steel profiles;
- Supporting the Production Manager in drawing up control plans, manufacturing plans and technical specifications for plant operation and tooling;
- Managing and using the HMI systems of the supervision consoles for monitoring process parameters and interfacing with the rolling lines;
- Analyse process parameters and propose technical and operational improvements;
- Collaborate with the Maintenance, Quality and Production departments to resolve process anomalies;
- Lead continuous improvement (OPEX) projects and Lean Manufacturing initiatives aimed at optimising production flows, reducing waste and continuously improving process performance (OEE, energy consumption);
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and current regulations;
- Support the introduction of new technologies and automation processes;
- Train departmental operational staff;
- Prepare technical reports and analyses of production and maintenance performance;

Required qualifications
- Requirements:
- Degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical, Materials or Management) or technical diploma with significant experience in the manufacturing sector;
- Knowledge of the basic principles of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma;
- Basic knowledge of current health and safety regulations;
- Previous experience in similar roles within metalworking factories;
- Knowledge of mechanical processes and metallurgy principles, with particular reference to the Fe-C diagram, heat treatment temperatures and the properties of ferrous materials;
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 environment;
- Ability to read technical drawings and, if possible, basic electrical diagrams;
- Knowledge of technical drawing and basic use of 2D and 3D CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor or equivalent);
- Leadership, results-oriented and operational problem-solving skills;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Ability to coordinate work groups;
- Strong focus on cooperation and team spirit;
- Decision-making skills;
- Flexibility/change orientation.
