Profile description
AFV Beltrame Group sta crescendo! Siamo alla ricerca per lo stabilimento di Vicenza di un*:
Business Intelligence Specialist
La figura verrà inserita all’interno del Group IT Department e, riportando al BI & AI Manager, prenderà in mano l’intero front-end della Business Intelligence: dal modello semantico alla visualizzazione, dalla governance dei report al rapporto diretto con il business. Questa figura sarà il riferimento tecnico e metodologico su questo perimetro, con l’autonomia di definire standard e best practice e la responsabilità di farli vivere nel quotidiano.
Duties / Responsibilities
What you’ll be doing:
- Semantic modelling: design of Power BI data models (star schemas, hierarchies, DAX measures, granularity management) optimised for performance and reusability, rather than for individual reports;
- Report and dashboard development: end-to-end development of Power BI and SAP BusinessObjects reports (Web Intelligence, IDT/UDT universes), from requirements gathering to production deployment;
- Migration to the new stack: analysis of the existing BusinessObjects reporting portfolio, rationalisation and definition of the transition path to Fabric / Power BI;
- Contribution to architecture: supporting the data team in defining data models, consumption layers and the management of shared datasets (semantic model, data flow, Fabric lakehouse);
- Best practices and standards: defining and disseminating guidelines on naming conventions, versioning, report lifecycles, environment management (dev / test / prod), deployment pipelines and workspace strategy;
- Quality and performance: optimising queries and models, monitoring refresh times, and tracking actual report usage;
- Data governance and security: managing row-level security, user profiling, and ensuring consistency in KPI definitions across different business areas;
- Documentation: maintaining accurate and up-to-date technical and functional documentation, rather than documentation produced retrospectively;
- Business partnering: direct dialogue with Finance, Operations, Sales, Supply Chain and Quality to translate business needs into sustainable analytical solutions;
- Enablement: support and training for key users, promoting the correct and independent use of self-service BI tools.
What we offer:
- A performance-related bonus, convertible into services, paid annually;
- A company canteen offering a choice of menus (including a wholemeal option as standard and, on request, specific dishes for vegans and those with food intolerances) and a packed lunch service;
- A 24-hour infirmary service;
- On-site flu vaccinations;
- Digital Academy accessible 24 hours a day, even via personal devices, and open to family members (including a platform for self-study of English and over 500 short training modules covering soft skills, IT, finance and more);
- Company library;
- Furthermore, the following services are available at the workplace at preferential rates: a cobbler, a laundry service, in-house grocery shopping, a specialist mechanic, and tax assistance with completing the 730 tax return;
- A portal offering special deals with leading brands for the purchase of goods and services.
Required qualifications
Who we are looking for:
- SAP BusinessObjects and Power BI are both mandatory requirements and not mutually exclusive. The role involves the day-to-day management of existing reporting on BusinessObjects and, in parallel, the development of the new stack on Power BI / Fabric: we are therefore looking for someone who can be operational on both platforms straight away;
- At least 5 years’ experience in BI development and design roles, preferably in structured industrial or multi-company environments;
- SAP BusinessObjects: proven expertise in Web Intelligence and universe design (Information Design Tool / Universe Design Tool); knowledge of platform administration (CMC, security, scheduling);
- Power BI: solid experience with Power BI Desktop and Service — advanced DAX, Power Query / M, tabular modelling, workspace management, RLS, deployment pipelines;
- SQL: excellent knowledge; ability to read, write and optimise complex queries independently;
- Fundamentals of data warehousing: dimensional modelling, ETL/ELT logic, understanding of upstream data flows;
- Hands-on approach: you’ll be directly involved in working on the model, queries and reports. The role is a technical lead, not merely a supervisory one;
- Languages: English (B2 level).
You’re the right person if:
- Practicality. You know how to move straight from a meeting to a working model without intermediaries and without waiting for someone else to lay the groundwork;
- Methodological rigour. You’ve seen enough poorly structured reports to know the cost of not having standards — and you ensure they’re adhered to politely but consistently;
- Autonomy and ownership. You’re given a scope and you manage it: priorities, quality, deadlines, and user relations;
- Ability to listen. You can understand what the person requesting a report really needs, even when the initial request suggests otherwise;
- A desire to build. Designing a new data warehouse is a rare opportunity: we’re looking for someone who sees it as such.
