LME attended Produrable in Paris

Guillaume MARTIN, Energy CSR Manager of LME Beltrame Group, took part in the Paris PRODURABLE fair by speaking at the panel discussion dedicated to the success of the major décarbonation project for cities and territories, alongside Géraud GUIBERT, the Ecological Factory, David Marchal, ADEME and Christine Goubet-Milhaud, UFE (French Electric Union) led by Emmanuelle Parra-Ponce, AEF Group.

It was an opportunity to promote a sustainable anchor for the production of recycled steel through the electrical sector within territories, highlighting in particular the obvious synergies for local recycling, the use of low-carbon steel for construction, or waste heat from the process to feed a district heating network.

The discussions also highlighted the importance of supporting the electric steelmaking sector, which is already low-carbon, in its sustainability and its path to carbon neutrality, particularly through access to carbon-free energy at a competitive price. LME and the Beltrame Group have set an initial goal of reducing CO2 emissions by 40 percent in Scopes 1 and 2 by 2030 (baseline 2015).
