A moment of relationship and deepening. This is the spirit behind the AFV Beltrame Group’s events entitled “Steel: the new frontiers of sustainability” organised in Italy, France, Switzerland and Romania”.
The Italian workshop was held at the Chervò Golf Hotel & Resort in Pozzolengo (Brescia). It was an opportunity to illustrate to the audience of customers and stakeholders present the investment plan for decarbonisation by 2030 and to present Chalibria, the carbon neutral certified steel.
Thanks to the speakers at the round table: Carlo Carraro, Rector Emeritus and Professor of Environmental Economics Cà Foscari University of Venice, Vice President of Working Group III of the UN IPCC; Alessandra Ricci, Managing Director of SACE; Regina Corradini D’Arienzo, Managing Director of Simest; Giovanni Baroni, Vice President of Confindustria and President of Piccola Industria Confindustria; and Marco Mari, President of Green Building Council Italia.
Moderating the debate was @Sebastiano Barisoni deputy executive director Radio 24 – Il Sole 24 Ore, who discussed the new socio-economic trends with guests, with an in-depth focus on changes in the steel supply chain.
“We are convinced that #Chalibria will successfully implement our decarbonisation plan and contribute to the necessary transformation of the steel sector as a whole, achieving the goal of reduced carbon footprint production within the timeframe dictated by European regulations,” said Carlo Beltrame, CEO France & Romania, Head of Group Business Development while Raffaele Ruella, CFO and Managing Director concluded by stating: “Despite the fact that the emissions generated during the Group’s activities, are below international and European sector averages, the company intends to further improve its performance with a 40% cut to 2030 (compared to 2015) and will do so through a five-year investment of around €200 million that will support precisely the structured #decarbonisation plan that we have approved.”
