There is something exciting about the idea that a building constructed in 1580 can still surprise and speak to us. The Olympic Theatre in Vicenza, the oldest indoor theatre in the world, a masterpiece by Andrea Palladio and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, now has a new look, restored to the city in its original splendour.<\/p>\n

This is the result of \u201cUn volto per l’Olimpico\u201d (A Face for the Olimpico), a fundraising campaign promoted by the Accademia Olimpica Vicenza<\/a> and the Societ\u00e0 del Quartetto di Vicenza<\/a> for the restoration of the exterior facing Stradella del Teatro and Largo Goethe. <\/p>\n

We chose to be there: not as a formal gesture, but as a heartfelt choice, in the spirit of an authentic bond with this territory and with what makes it unique.<\/p>\n

Today, with the unveiling of the commemorative plaque, a chapter of collective care comes to a close, involving 527 donors, including institutions, businesses, associations and patrons, for a place that belongs to everyone.<\/p>\n

Because beauty, when preserved together, does not belong to the past, it belongs to the future.
