It was engineer Antonio Beltrame, in the early 20th century, who first envisioned harnessing the hydraulic drop of the Bacchiglione to directly power his steel mill.<\/p>\n<p>The plant became operational in 1937, connected via a dedicated power line to the Vicenza facility. Since then, it has undergone decades of transformation, including a major upgrade in 2010 and a remarkable recovery after the severe flood of November that same year.<\/p>\n<p>Today, with an installed capacity of around 800 kW, Colz\u00e8 generates approximately 3.5 million kWh of renewable energy annually\u2014enough to power over 1,200 households.
